KEY STAFF

Johan Steenvoorden

Johan has over 30 years of experience in all planning aspects realeted to many airport projects throughout the world, both greenfield and brownfield. As lead architect / planner, Johan was responsible for feasibility studies, master plan studies, terminal development studies, terminal designs from concept design to final stage of construction, as well as for all other airport ancillary facilities, including MRO's, ATC facilities and cargo terminals.

More recently, he has concentrated on terminal process optimisation, studies concerning terminal principles with the aim to optimise future usability and flexibility, and has been involved in design reviews and design management.

Norbert Schmidt

Norbert acquired invaluable knowledge within all design phases of the civil infrastructure of airports, i.e. geometrical design and layout, runway and taxiway pavements, aprons and holding bays, airside and landside roads, and earthworks and drainage.

Further to master planning and civil engineering, he gained a great deal of experience in the field of asset management. Aspects that belong to his strategy and focus on asset management include short- and long term maintenance planning, lifecycle cost analyses, functional and technical program of requirements for structural engineering, fire safety engineering, and electrical and mechanical engineering.

Paul Beck

Paul is a Senior Airport Planner who focuses on master planning and strategic development consultancy. During his 12 years of experience, he was involved in numerous development projects from large-scale hub expansion programs to small-scale niche airport developments.

Paul’s credo is to approach each initial planning process from a multidisciplinary and integral angle. In his opinion, it is vital that functional, operational and financial-economic aspects need to be coherently considered in order to create a comprehensive perspective that lives up to the complexity of airport developments and its decision making.

Huib Heukelom

Huib graduated from Delft University in civil engineering, after which he worked for NACO (Netherlands Airport Consultants) for more than 35 years. During the last decades of his career with NACO, his involvement in various worldwide airport studies provided him with a fundamental knowledge in airport master planning.

Huib also founded NACO’s master planning department and managed an entire team of airport engineers and designers. As senior consultant, he was considered the pillar of knowledge retention and development in the fields of airport planning, air traffic analysis and statistics, forecasting and terminal process development.
